The EU’s Economic and Financial Affairs Council, known as ECOFIN, meets Tuesday under the chairmanship of Cyprus Finance Minister Makis Keravnos.
ECOFIN is responsible for shaping European economic policy, taxation, financial‑services regulation and oversight of the European Union budget.
Ministers are expected to exchange views on the European Commission’s economic‑policy recommendations for the eurozone, issued in December.
Those recommendations are expected to be approved by ECOFIN the following day.
