A new episode of dust is affecting Cyprus. At 3 a.m., dust levels in Limassol, Nicosia, Paphos and Zygi were in the “orange” category, ranging between 100 and 140 micrograms per cubic meter.
Levels in Larnaca and Famagusta were slightly lower, falling in the “yellow” range.
The dust is expected to gradually subside from Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities are urging the public — especially vulnerable groups — to avoid outdoor activity until conditions improve.
