Cyprus participated as an observer in a meeting of the Peace Council, represented by Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos.

Fourteen other European Union member states also took part in the session.

The meeting focused on outlining next steps and monitoring mechanisms for implementing the Peace Agreement and President Trump’s plan, as adopted by the U.N. Security Council under Resolution 20‑83.

According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Cyprus submitted targeted proposals ahead of the meeting, following President Christodoulides’ six‑point document supporting implementation of the resolution.

The proposals included practical options for supplementary assistance in four areas:

  1. Humanitarian aid through the Amalthea Plan,
  2. Early recovery and restoration of critical infrastructure,
  3. Security training in cooperation with relevant EU missions, and
  4. Operational support to the International Stabilization Force.

A joint document with U.N. partners (UNOPS) was also submitted on strengthening early recovery efforts.

Cyprus additionally presented a separate proposal outlining six options for contributing to the International Stabilization Force.
