Police carried out intensified overnight patrols across urban areas nationwide, resulting in five arrests as part of targeted crime‑prevention operations.
The arrests involved a range of offenses, including possession of drugs with intent to supply, possession and driving of a stolen motorcycle, and illegal stay in the Republic.
During the operations, officers stopped 197 vehicles and checked 253 occupants. Sixteen premises were also inspected, leading to four citations for various violations.
Traffic enforcement produced 85 citations for road‑safety offenses, and six additional traffic cases are under investigation. Police also impounded five vehicles.
Authorities said the coordinated operations — involving increased patrols, targeted checks and rapid response — will continue daily to prevent crime, protect the public and maintain order.
