FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Nicosia Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) carried out a coordinated operation in the Nicosia district Thursday, targeting the identification and seizure of duty-free goods.
Officers stopped two vehicles in the area during the operation.
A search of the first vehicle uncovered 32 air conditioning gas cylinders.
In the second vehicle, authorities found a substantial quantity of liquid and powdered pesticides, whose import, possession, and trade are prohibited.
The drivers, aged 61 and 49, were arrested for flagrant violations related to the illegal possession of duty-free products. Customs Department officials were notified and took custody of the seized items.
