Britain is planning to send a warship to Cyprus, according to British media reports cited by state broadcaster RIK radio.
The reports say the vessel will be the destroyer HMS Duncan, described as one of Europe’s most advanced air and missile defense ships.
British outlets also report that the U.K. currently lacks the capability to defend its sovereign base areas on the island against ballistic‑missile attacks, prompting the move.
No timetable for the deployment was immediately reported.
