Foot-and-mouth disease is spreading rapidly, with a second pig unit confirmed infected and the total number of affected livestock units reaching 101, according to Veterinary Services.
Authorities have also confirmed three additional positive units: a goat-and-sheep unit in Dromolaxia–Meneou, a cattle unit in Geri, and a pig farm in Paliometocho.
Veterinary Services said the second phase of vaccinations has reached 73.5 percent of cattle and 58.5 percent of goats and sheep.
Among pig units located within the 3‑kilometer and 10‑kilometer infected zones, 94.73 percent have been vaccinated so far.
