The European Commission has delivered 500,000 doses of foot‑and‑mouth disease vaccine to the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus.
The doses are intended to support vaccination efforts in the island’s north, where the disease has been detected.
According to the Commission, the shipment is being provided as emergency assistance to boost immunity in vulnerable animal populations and reduce the risk of further spread.
Brussels said it will continue monitoring the epidemiological situation in Cyprus and assess any additional needs to ensure an effective and proportionate response to the outbreak.
