Cyprus’ Department of Agriculture will host the 16th Cyprus Wine Competition in Limassol from April 20–24, 2026.

The event highlights the importance of the island’s wine sector, which has expanded in recent years and gained recognition in both domestic and international markets. The competition is held under the auspices of the agriculture minister, Cyprus’ EU Council Presidency and the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV).

The competition will open on April 20 with a press briefing at the department’s Viticulture and Oenology Branch in Limassol. The awards ceremony will take place on April 24 at 7 p.m. at the OPUS Events Venue.

Attendance is open to the public with prior confirmation at 25877010.

Wine judging will be carried out by a seven‑member international panel chaired by Prof. Dominique Tusseau, appointed by the OIV.

The evaluation process follows OIV standards for international wine competitions.
