Cyprus Weather – Tuesday 12 May

A weak low‑pressure system is affecting the region Tuesday, with periods of dust in the air.

Skies will be mostly clear, though patches of mid‑ and high‑level cloud are expected early in the day. Winds will blow from the southeast to southwest at light to moderate levels, 3 to 4 Beaufort, strengthening locally to 5 Beaufort later. Temperatures will reach 33 C inland, about 28 C on the south and east coasts, and around 25 C on the west, north and higher mountains.

Tonight will remain mostly clear. Areas of low cloud or light fog may form, mainly in the eastern half of the island. Winds will shift northwest, light and briefly moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Seas will be slight to locally a little rough. Temperatures will fall to 14 C inland and along the coast, and 12 C in the higher mountains.

Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly clear with intervals of mid‑ and high‑level cloud.

On Friday, cloud cover will increase and may produce isolated showers. Winds are expected to strengthen, especially along the coast.

Temperatures will gradually fall through Friday, returning to seasonal averages.
