Cyprus is preparing for its May 24 parliamentary elections.
Authorities estimate about 1,200 polling stations will operate on election day, staffed by roughly 5,300 public employees and 1,200 police officers.
Voters will choose mayors, local council members and officials for newly merged municipalities and local authorities on the same day as the parliamentary poll, as the government moves to streamline and centralize local administration.
