Authorities are investigating a case of serious misbehavior by primary school pupils on a school bus in the Limassol district, after the incident was reported by the newspaper Phileleftheros.
Petros Theocharides, spokesman for the EMEL bus company, told CyBC that pupils insulted the driver, struck seats with emergency safety hammers and moved around the bus without wearing seat belts. The driver halted the route for safety reasons.
Officials from the Department of Road Transport were called to the scene, and the school and parents were notified.
Theocharides said similar problems have been recorded repeatedly on the same route, with other drivers also filing complaints.
