AKEL’s Central Committee said Thursday it has unanimously endorsed party Secretary‑General Stefanos Stefanou as its candidate for president of the House of Representatives.
In a statement, the committee said the candidacy is already supported by two parliamentary parties, AKEL and Alma.
It also instructed the party’s Political Bureau to continue contacts and consultations with other parties to present Stefanou’s candidacy and explore the possibility of broadening support.
