The Statistical Service has published its bi-monthly “Monthly Economic Developments” bulletin for January-June 2026, tracking the main trends in the Cypriot economy through June, with comparative data for the past four years available up to 13 August 2026.
Manufacturing output rose 0.8% in the January-May 2026 period compared with the same period in 2025.
The total floor area of approved building permits reached 1,350,600 square metres in January-April 2026, up 45.5% on the same period in 2025.
Total motor vehicle registrations rose 13.2% to 29,367 in the January-June 2026 period. Private saloon car registrations climbed to 19,995, up 17.2%, while light trucks reached 2,795, up 12.9%, compared with January-June 2025.
The Consumer Price Index rose 1.7% in January-June 2026 compared with the corresponding period the previous year.
Total goods imports reached €7,296.8 million in the January-June 2026 period, up 8.8%, while total goods exports fell 1.2% to €2,617.7 million.
Tourist arrivals totalled 1,656,015 in January-June 2026, down 10.1% from 1,843,013 in the same period of 2025.
