President Donald Trump says he has faith that Denmark will agree to sell Greenland to the United States.
The newly installed president has refused to rule out the use of a military operation for the United States to gain control of the island, which is largely self-governing but belongs to the Kingdom of Denmark.
“Greenland is a wonderful place. We need it for international security. I’m sure Denmark will agree to this,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday evening.
