Cypriot Energy Minister George Papanastasiou pointed out that 2027 is critical for natural gas.
According to the news in the Haravgi newspaper, Papanastasiou, drew attention to the fact that “2027 is critical in terms of seeing the first Cypriot natural gas on the surface of the sea.”
Referring to the visit of President Nikos Christodoulides to Egypt in February, where agreements regarding natural gas were to be signed, Papanastasiou stated that this was an important development.
He stated that until now they had talked about drilling, natural gas fields and the next stage, but pointed out that the most important part they had never talked about was how they would actually export natural gas to the markets.
Papanastasiou said that agreements will be signed on how to bring natural gas to the markets and that this is why the signing of the agreement is important, adding that the agreement is related to Egypt, companies investing in natural gas fields and the Cypriot Administration interested in bringing natural gas to the markets.
