President Donald Trump has ended a US initiative to increase access to electricity in Africa, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The initiative, known as Power Africa, is set to close almost all its programs, with the majority of its employees laid off.
The Trump administration has not confirmed this decision.
Power Africa, launched in 2013 by former President Barack Obama, aimed to bring electricity to millions of households in Africa.
