Carnival festivities continue in Cyprus – Here is the weather for Sunday

The island has been in carnival mode for a few days, with festivities set to culminate tomorrow, Sunday. According to the Department of Meteorology, the weather will initially be mainly clear, but clouds will develop gradually, bringing isolated rains in the afternoon, mainly in the mountains, inland, and in the north.

Weather Forecast:

  • Tonight: Mostly clear skies. Winds will be weak at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 6 degrees inland, 9 degrees on the west coast, 8 degrees on the rest of the coast, and 1 degree in the higher mountains where frost is expected.
  • Tomorrow: The weather will start mainly clear, with clouds developing later. Isolated rains are expected in the afternoon, mainly in the mountains, inland, and in the north. By late afternoon, increased high clouds will appear. Winds will shift from variable in the morning to southwest to northwest, weak to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 21 degrees inland, 19 degrees on the west coast, 20 degrees on the rest of the coast, and 9 degrees in the higher mountains.
  • Tomorrow Evening: Increased high clouds, with the possibility of low cloud and sparse fog or mist forming locally, mainly inland and in eastern areas. Winds will remain weak at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will stay calm to slightly rough.
  • Clean Monday: The weather will be temporarily mainly cloudy, with isolated rains expected in the afternoon, mainly in the mountains, inland, and in the north.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: Intermittently mainly cloudy with medium and high clouds on Tuesday, and partly cloudy with the possibility of isolated rains on Wednesday. A strengthened northeasterly wind current will affect the area.

Temperatures will gradually drop until Tuesday and remain stable on Wednesday, fluctuating close to average climatological values. The snow depth in Chionistra is currently 1 centimeter.
