FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus is set to experience a significant temperature increase in the coming days, accompanied by rising dust levels in the atmosphere, according to forecasts.
Meteorologist Andreas Chrysanthou told Cyprus radio that a weak high-pressure system is currently in place, while a warm air mass will gradually begin affecting the island starting Wednesday.
Temperatures are expected to rise well above seasonal averages, with highs reaching over 30 degrees Celsius over the weekend.
In addition to the heat, dust will begin to accumulate in the atmosphere from Wednesday night, potentially impacting air quality.
Authorities advise residents to take precautions against high temperatures, particularly vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children, and to monitor air quality levels due to the presence of dust.
