French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his readiness to discuss a European nuclear weapons strategy.
In an interview with Portuguese TV RTP, Macron stated that he is willing to open the discussion “if it makes possible a European defense.”
Macron emphasized the necessity of starting this discussion if Europe seeks “greater autonomy” in defense and “nuclear deterrence.”
European leaders are set to meet on Sunday to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine.
