FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Police in Cyprus will crack down on seat belt and child seat violations starting today, Monday, March 10, through Sunday, March 16, 2025, to curb road fatalities.
Officials say seat belts are the top lifesaver in vehicles. From 2021-2023, 52.5% of traffic fatalities involved drivers or passengers who weren’t buckled up.
The campaign aims to boost awareness and compliance through intensified checks and public outreach.
