FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Authorities at Cyprus’ Central Prisons uncovered six cell phones, chargers, and cables concealed within a wall in the cell of an inmate from India.
The discovery required breaking part of the wall during a targeted search.
In a separate inspection, officers found a mobile phone in the cell of a Greek Cypriot inmate.
These incidents highlight the recurring problem of contraband smuggling in the prison system, where prohibited items like cell phones and drugs are frequently discovered.
