FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The number of people killed in motorcycle and motorbike accidents in Cyprus has reached 12 so far this year, surpassing the total for all of 2024, according to traffic department data.
Last year, 10 people died in such accidents.
This year, the 12 fatalities account for 46% of all road deaths, which total 26 to date.
The overall number of traffic-related deaths during the same period last year was also 26.
Authorities have not released further details about the individual incidents, but the rise in motorbike-related fatalities has prompted renewed concern over road safety.
