FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Department of Road Transport has announced a recall affecting 440 BMW vehicles due to faulty TAKATA airbags.
The recall, prompted by notification from the manufacturer, involves replacing the driver’s airbag. Owners with registered mobile numbers in the Department’s database have already been notified via SMS.
The Department urges affected vehicle owners to heed the Ministry of Transport’s December 2024 advisory, which recommends avoiding use of these cars.
If alternative transportation is unavailable, owners are advised to take precautions to reduce risks.
Owners should contact the local distributor, Pilakoutas, for further instructions and to schedule repairs.
