FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – New York Helicopter Tours has ceased operations following a crash into the Hudson River on Thursday that claimed six lives.
The helicopter, identified as a Bell model, did not have a flight recorder, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Flight recorders track crucial data, such as altitude and speed, used in accident investigations.
The FAA stated it will immediately review the operator’s license and safety history, an update shared via X, formerly Twitter.
Among the victims were five Spanish tourists, including two adults and three children.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed that no video or camera footage has been recovered from the helicopter.
