FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus will address its pressing water shortage with mobile desalination units provided by the United Arab Emirates, President Nikos Christodoulides revealed in an interview with ANT1.
Christodoulides highlighted the strong ties between Nicosia and Abu Dhabi, noting that the Cypriot government sought solutions from the UAE to tackle the crisis.
He announced that 15 mobile desalination units, each capable of producing 1,100 cubic meters of water daily, will be deployed to meet the country’s needs for 2025.
The units will be provided free of charge to Cyprus as part of the excellent political relations between the two nations.
Christodoulides also recalled the close collaboration between Cyprus and the UAE in implementing the humanitarian corridor “Amalthea.”
