FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – North Korea (DPRK) officially confirmed on Monday that its military operations in Russia’s Kursk region “were victoriously concluded,” according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
This marks the DPRK’s first acknowledgment of its military involvement abroad.
Kim Jong Un, the DPRK’s leader, authorized the deployment of forces under the terms of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia.
The Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea stated that the operations aligned with international law, including the UN Charter.
Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov commended DPRK troops for their significant role in the Kursk campaign while reporting to President Vladimir Putin.
