The Turkish Cypriot community has expressed support for a federal solution and reunification, a move described as “positive and hopeful” by AKEL Secretary General Stefanos Stefanou.
In a social media post, Stefanou congratulated newly elected Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman and emphasized the need to resume negotiations from where they left off, preserving past progress and aiming for a comprehensive settlement.
“All sides must now focus on continuing the talks,” Stefanou said, calling for renewed efforts toward resolving the Cyprus issue.
