FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Albania aims to finalize negotiations for European Union membership by 2027, according to Prime Minister Edi Rama, who described the goal as “very ambitious.”
EU President António Costa announced that a new phase in Albania’s accession process would begin Monday, with plans to open additional negotiation chapters throughout the year.
Costa emphasized that EU enlargement to the Western Balkans is a key geopolitical investment in peace, prosperity, and stability for Europe.
Five of the nine countries with EU candidate status are located in the Western Balkans.
