The bodies of nearly 30 migrants have been found in Libya in the western and southeastern parts of the country, local security authorities and the Libyan Red Crescent said on Thursday.
Authorities say the bodies of 19 people were found in three separate graves on a farm in the Jikharra area. The dead were identified as victims of illegal migrant smuggling, authorities say.
The Libyan Red Cross, in turn, says that the organization’s volunteers have found the bodies of ten people near the place where the boat carrying them sank off the port of the city of Zawiya.
Libya has become a transit point for migrants trying to reach Europe via the Mediterranean.
