Turkish Cypriot law enforcement officers in Famagusta, Kyrenia, and Güzelyurt (Morphou) conducted simultaneous public order and traffic inspections yesterday evening.
The operation, which took place between 20:00 and 24:00, resulted in numerous bookings, according to Turkish Cypriot Radio.
In Famagusta, authorities inspected entertainment venues, nightclubs, coffee houses, and casinos.
Traffic inspections led to 277 bookings, including speeding, driving under the influence, and driving without necessary licenses or insurance.
One vehicle was banned from traffic, and one driver was arrested.
Kyrenia saw similar inspections with entertainment venues, bars, and casinos scrutinized.
Traffic inspections resulted in 214 bookings, with offenses ranging from speeding to driving under the influence. Nineteen vehicles were banned from traffic, and one driver was arrested. Four individuals without residence permits were also arrested.
In Güzelyurt (Morphou), inspections covered entertainment venues and betting houses with no incidents reported. Traffic checks led to 118 bookings, mainly for speeding and driving without insurance.
In total, six individuals were arrested for unauthorized residence.
