FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – President Nikos Christodoulides met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on Monday morning on the sidelines of the Ocean Conference in Nice, France.
The two leaders discussed developments ahead of the upcoming expanded conference on the Cyprus issue, set to take place in New York under UN auspices.
In a written statement, Presidential Press Office Director Victoras Papadopoulos noted that both Christodoulides and Guterres expressed their commitment to ensuring a successful outcome for the conference and advancing efforts to restart negotiations.
Papadopoulos also stated that Guterres briefed Christodoulides on recent contacts made by his personal envoy, María Ángela Holguín, in Turkey.
