FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – President Nikos Christodoulides met with Jordan’s King Abdullah II on the sidelines of the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France, to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations between Cyprus and Jordan.
According to a written statement from Presidential Press Office Director Victoras Papadopoulos, Christodoulides briefed the Jordanian monarch on Cyprus’ priorities during its EU Council presidency, including efforts to strengthen ties between Brussels and nations in the Eastern Mediterranean and the broader Middle East.
The leaders also exchanged views on geopolitical developments and Cyprus-Jordan relations. Christodoulides provided an update on the Cyprus issue ahead of the upcoming expanded conference in New York and reiterated his commitment to resuming negotiations within the agreed framework.
