FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Authorities on Thursday arrested a 44-year-old convicted foreign national in connection with an attempted murder and vehicle arson in Pyla.
Police said the suspect, who is serving a sentence in Cyprus, was taken into custody early Thursday by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department.
The arrest relates to a case involving an attempted killing and the torching of vehicles at a car yard in Larnaca.
Officers searched the suspect’s prison cell under a court-issued warrant and collected evidence.
He is expected to appear before a judge later Thursday, where police will request his remand.
