A red danger warning has been issued on Mayotte due to a storm that is expected to occur on Sunday morning.
The French territory located in the Indian Ocean northwest of Madagascar is bracing for strong winds and heavy rainfall less than a month after the previous devastating storm.
At least 39 people died and more than 5,600 were injured as a result of Cyclone Chido before Christmas – the most destructive storm to hit the island in 90 years.
Cyclone Dikeledi is now expected. Residents are advised to seek shelter and ensure they have enough food and water.
