FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — Inflation and immigration remain top concerns for Cypriots, according to the European Commission’s spring 2025 Eurobarometer survey.
Thirty-six percent of respondents cited rising prices as their biggest issue, while 32 percent pointed to immigration—a sharp drop from 50 percent in December but still far above the EU average of 14 percent.
Public confidence in the government remains low, with 68 percent expressing distrust, though the figure has improved by six points since late 2024.
Cypriots show even less attachment to the EU—57 percent said they feel no connection to Europe, and 59 percent report no bond with the bloc, nearly the reverse of the EU-wide average.
