Cyprus is closely tracking the escalation in the region and remains in constant contact with its embassies on the ground, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos said Saturday.
In a post on X, Kombos said the government has activated the Estia Plan, the Foreign Ministry’s national emergency framework used to evacuate civilians from nearby crisis zones in the wider Middle East through Cyprus.
He said the ministry’s Crisis Management Department remains active and ready to respond as developments unfold.
According to the minister, the Estia Plan is triggered in emergencies or periods of instability to allow the safe transit of citizens and foreign nationals from affected areas via Cyprus.
