FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – President Nikos Christodoulides of Cyprus, accompanied by Energy Minister George Papanastasiou, met with ExxonMobil Vice President John Ardill to discuss the strategic development of Cyprus-US energy relations.
The meeting focused on advancements in Blocks 5 and 10 of Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), where ExxonMobil collaborates with QatarEnergy.
The discussions emphasized the commercial exploitation of natural gas deposits, including the confirmed “Glafkos” deposit in Block 10.
These developments are seen as pivotal in bolstering Cyprus’ role as a reliable energy partner in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis highlighted that these discoveries contribute significantly to the European Union’s energy security and diversification efforts.
