Police in Limassol sprang into action at dawn after a bomb exploded in the car of a 20-year-old man in Kolossi.
The blast occurred shortly after 2 a.m., but the car’s owner did not notify authorities until 4 a.m., initially believing it to be a firecracker.
The car, parked outside the man’s home, sustained significant damage to its front end and also affected the house’s roof.
Investigations revealed the explosion was caused by a low-yield improvised explosive device.
In his testimony, the young man claimed he had no conflicts with anyone.
