The National Crime Agency (NCA) in Nicosia has seized over a kilogram of cannabis and several military weapon cartridges, leading to the arrest of a 34-year-old man.
The arrest is part of ongoing investigations.
Following a tip-off, members of the NCA, along with the Police Dog Unit, conducted a search of a warehouse in the rural Nicosia district, maintained by the suspect.
They found five full 7.62mm caliber cartridges, two nylon bags containing cannabis with a total weight of 1134 grams, a small container of cannabis, and a mobile phone.
A subsequent search of the suspect’s home in Nicosia uncovered three pieces of a solid substance, weighing a total of one gram.
The 34-year-old was arrested for the offense of illegal possession of property and is in custody.
He is scheduled to appear before the Nicosia District Court for a detention order.
Investigations by the NEC (Nicosia Provincial Level) are ongoing.
