Tourists are being urged to act sensibly at a well known adventure spot in Ayia Napa.

It comes after a person was hospitalized Monday after falling from the sea caves area in Cape Greco.

The Cyprus Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) activated the national emergency plan “NEARCHOS” at 5:20 p.m. following reports of an injured individual.

Fire service personnel retrieved the victim, who was then transported by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital for treatment.

Officials reminded the public that approaching or diving from the sea caves is strictly prohibited. A geological survey determined the area is dangerous due to severe erosion.

This marks the third reported injury at the site in recent weeks.
