Cyprus is currently experiencing a spell of seasonal low pressure accompanied by a warm air mass, bringing clear skies and soaring temperatures across the island.
On Monday, skies will remain mostly clear after the morning fog dissipates. Winds will gradually shift from variable to southwesterly and northwesterly, blowing at light to moderate strength (3-4 Beaufort), increasing to strong (5 Beaufort) in southeastern regions by the afternoon. Seas will be slightly choppy.
Daytime highs are expected to reach:
- 41°C inland
- 32°C on the west coast
- 34°C on other coastal areas
- 33°C in mountainous regions
Authorities issued a Red Alert for wildfire danger in all forested areas.
