FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis has condemned recent remarks by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, describing them as “blatant violations of international and European law.”
The statements were made during commemorations in the occupied north marking the 51st anniversary of Turkey’s military intervention in Cyprus.
Letymbiotis, speaking on CYBC, said while mourning prevailed in the free areas of Cyprus, celebrations in the north dishonored the memory of those impacted by decades of division and human rights violations.
