FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – With extreme heat expected to persist throughout the week, the Ministry of Health is urging the public to take appropriate precautions to avoid heat-related illness.
Officials are advising particular care for vulnerable groups, including infants, young children, the elderly, pregnant women and individuals with chronic health conditions.
The ministry recommends avoiding direct sun exposure during midday hours, wearing hats and sunglasses, and drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated. Residents are also encouraged to limit outdoor activity and seek shade or cool indoor environments when possible.
