Humanitarian aid sent from Cyprus to Gaza under the Amalthea initiative is scheduled to be unloaded Monday morning, the Foreign Ministry announced last night.
The vessel, which departed from Limassol last week, is expected to dock at Israel’s Ashdod port shortly.
Upon arrival, the 1,200-ton shipment will be transferred without additional security checks to the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), which will hand it over to World Central Kitchen for distribution in Gaza.
The operation is being carried out under the auspices of the United Nations delivery mechanism.
