The Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union is scheduled to convene on Monday in Brussels to address a series of critical international issues.

The discussions will primarily focus on the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, the volatile situation in the Middle East, and recent developments in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran, and Georgia.

Cyprus’ Foreign Minister, Konstantinos Kompos, will be among the key participants in these high-stakes deliberations.

Kompos is set to depart for Brussels later this morning, ahead of the Council’s sessions.

Following the conclusion of the Council’s work, he will participate in the European Union-Israel Association Council, underscoring the importance of fostering diplomatic ties and addressing regional challenges.

On Tuesday, Kompos is scheduled to meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, further reinforcing the collaborative efforts between Cyprus and Israel.

Additionally, he will hold discussions with Raffaele Fitto, the Executive Vice-President for Cohesion and Reforms of the European Commission.

These meetings aim to enhance diplomatic engagement and address key regional and international issues.

The upcoming sessions of the Foreign Affairs Council and subsequent meetings reflect the European Union’s commitment to addressing pressing global challenges through diplomacy and collaboration.

The outcomes of these discussions are expected to shape the EU’s foreign policy and strategic approach to resolving conflicts and promoting stability.
