The Municipality of Limassol has signed an agreement  with Blue Sun Automation Ltd for the installation and operation of a smart parking system in on-street and off-street public parking areas.

The company received the highest evaluation score and was deemed the most economically advantageous bid based on a price-quality criterion.

With a total budget of €5.172 million (excluding VAT), the project includes the deployment of smart monitoring systems across approximately 1,500 on-street parking spaces in Limassol’s central areas, as well as around 876 off-street spaces in municipal parking lots along the coastal front and key urban locations.

The agreement covers an initial five-year operation period, with an option for an additional five-year extension.

Implementation is expected to be completed within 12 months, followed by four years of system management, with an optional five-year renewal. The new system will be fully integrated with the state’s central management platform, as promoted by the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy. Part of the project may be co-financed through the Recovery and Resilience Fund, aligning with the National Smart Cities Strategy.
