FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A total of 157 people require immediate housing restoration following recent wildfires in the Limassol district, a senior official said Thursday.
Haralambos Christofinas, Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities, made the remarks after a morning meeting in the village of Kivides.
The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou, Limassol Deputy District Officer Electra Panayiotou, local mayors, and other officials.
Christofinas said the priority is to secure shelter for those affected.
Civil Defense services, in coordination with other agencies, are working to find permanent accommodations for the displaced, for as long as necessary.
