The Cyprus Police, in cooperation with the FRONTEX Organization, carried out a coordinated operation on February 22, 2025, for the repatriation of 14 third-country nationals residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus.

The joint return flight was conducted by the Italian Authorities, with the participation of the Cyprus Police.

This marks the second participation of the Republic of Cyprus in FRONTEX joint operations for 2025.

Since the beginning of the year, 2,056 people residing illegally in Cyprus have been repatriated through forced and voluntary return procedures, compared to 1,639 people during the same period last year.

Another operation is planned within the day by FRONTEX and the German Authorities, with the participation of the Cyprus Police, for the repatriation of an additional 10 nationals of a specific third country.

The Police and the Aliens and Immigration Service continue their efforts to maximize the number of returns.
