FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Police in Limassol questioned four individuals for illegal street vending after finding them selling car wiper blades to passing drivers in the Agia Fyla area on Friday morning.
Acting on information, officers arrived at the scene around 10:30 a.m. and questioned six people found in possession of the items.
All six were taken to the Polemidia Police Station for further investigation.
Authorities determined that four of them were involved in street vending and issued extrajudicial citations.
A number of windshield wipers were confiscated. No evidence of wrongdoing was found against the other two individuals.
The unlicensed sale of windshield wipers, often referred to as hawking, is a common practice across Cyprus, particularly in supermarket parking lots. While some see it as a means of earning a livelihood, it is widely regarded as a nuisance by the public.
